Our staff has authored Initial Studies, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Impact Reports; and has managed compliance for 401, 404, 1600, permit applications. We work collaboratively with our clients to plans that comply with the requirements of federal, state and local regulations. TransTerra can obtain necessary permits and prepare reports within project timetables in a cost effective manner.
Wetland/Waters Delineation and Aquatic Habitat Characterization:
Our staff are certified to delineation wetlands and waters and have over sixteen years of delineation experience. TransTerra’s diverse team provides comprehensive habitat characterization services. Our staff uses GIS/GPS to map existing habitat distributions and provide bird, amphibian, reptile, and macroinvertebrate surveys to provide a complete biological picture.
TransTerra staff is experienced in conducting rare plant surveys in the Northern California and Southern Oregon. Our staff produce accurate terrestrial and estuarine plant community maps by conducted field surveys using Arc GIS/GPS equipment and techniques. We use a comprehensive methodology to accurately identify species in floristic surveys.
Mitigation and Monitoring Design and Reports:
TransTerra staff are experienced in Mitigation and Monitoring Design including plant palettes, success and performance criteria, agency coordination, banking and compensatory mitigation and monitoring reports.
Fish Protection and Relocation:
TransTerra’s biologists are skilled at meeting the needs of projects that could potentially impact fish and their habitat. We provide fish population estimates, habitat inventory and assessment, age/growth data, biotelemetry and fish diversion/relocation services.
TransTerra provides biological surveys to meet your construction needs. Our biologists come prepared to identify and inventory birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals that include federal and state of California special status species.
Biological Monitoring and Reporting:
TransTerra provides on-site monitoring services for both large and smallscale construction projects. Our staff are trained and experienced to monitor and report on special status plants, amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, bats, and marine mammals.
Water Quality Monitoring and Reporting:
Our staff is proficient in a variety of water quality sampling (techniques, environments), analysis, and reporting practices. We have experience working with groundwater, streams/rivers and estuaries.
Bird & Bat Surveys:
TransTerra staff has experience conducting pre-construction bird surveys and on-site project monitoring for special status species in compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Our staff has extensive experience with avian species protection pertaining to large and small-scale construction projects. We can obtain or assist in obtaining special take permits and other permitting applications related to bird species protection.
Reptiles and Amphibians:
TransTerra staff has experience conducting population and habitat assessment surveys for northern red-legged frogs, foothill yellow-legged frogs, Del Norte salamanders, western pond turtles, and other amphibians throughout California.
